I fired mine up...and sat and waited...and waited...and waited.............and waited...with a flashlight...and waited...and FINALLY!!! there was the lil culprit...mine was a hose besides the clogged up core. I chose ultimately to replace em all...I figure I just kept adding pressure from one fix to the next...something bound to give....so i did everything...short of my HG since I am not having that issue....so far all has been good

my truck is fuel injected too and i've looked at it and it wont be hard to do its just gonna be a bitch doing it.

your lucky i am looking into a KIA sportaged DOHC 2.0L with 155 miles on it for 600 bucks right now i think thats gunna be my best bet all the way round

baaa....I almost would rather have the kia motor in there. least its a true 4 valve motor

do you have access to a coolant system pressure pump???..if its completely assembled you throw it on and put pressure in the system..pull the plugs and crank it over and if coolant sprays out you got a head gasket problem...if you got the head off then MAKE SURE it's not warped..mazdas are notorious for that..also put a straightedge on the block..i've ran into a few warped blocks over the years...also pull the water pump and check the vanes..sometimes the vanes separate from the shaft....this is after you check all the stuff korrupt mentioned....also ...i know its weird! but if the engine is all together double check your timing!..it's supposed to be 6degress BTDC...if it's way advanced it WILL cause an overheating issue..hope this helps alittle man!

alright im officially fed up with it all i bypassed the heater core and it is still doing the exact same thing ..... i am officially out of options i tried two thermostats and no thermostat at all..... still the same problems

Its not the thermostat. Its air getting in the system....thats the problem.....now finding WHERE is the solution.

Its not all that hard of a system to diagnose...pretty simple, like most rest of the truck.....but you may have to get into some weird positions to find it.

I still think you have a cracked housing or a blown hose hiding somewhere.....thats reason its burping is air is getting in....and even if a cracked housing on something...if could be spraying and vaporizing against the block. I would check your HG as suggested with pressure system...pretty easy and you can prolly rent the tool to do it.....and also if its a cracked housing on something...with the engine off you will be able to hear the coolant/air seeping out/in leading you to the trouble spot.

sorry if I seem a lil cross today...its been a shitty ass day with a equally shitty start to a weekend....I will try to keep as helpful as possible but if I come off shity on something...just please forgive me ok? It bound to get worse tonight and I told myself I wasnt even gonna sign on but I wanna help my man here with his trouble issue....just afraid I might piss someone off in the process so apologizing now for it

oh oh oh! i think i know where it is! so i was looking into my coolant leak and my truck occasionally idles super high and its because my idle air control valve is clogged with air. i looked into it and i guess a lot of mazdas have this problem i dont know for sure if thats what yours is but its a good place to look.

yea....gotta clean them hoses and the intake out...I thin kit was mentioned with a coat hanger or something...I dun remember....working much harder on getting faced than anything...maybe I will just get lucky and pass out for the entire weekend and this will really be just a bad dream...doubtful thinking
