What makes my mazda go zoom-zoom

It has a different throttle bracket on it now, and I still need to get a new/refurb'd a/c comp
cause the one that's in it looks like a turd on a polished floor! I need to take some new vid
of it as it is tuned better and has exhaust on it now....

Gotta love the rotary! I thought about doing that when I first got my truck but discovered that it had been done so...yes, that's an FE3 in mine.

hey,
can you give me some details on this?
is that just a valve cover? 12 valve head swap, with the stock intake manifold?

heres the link on the build. hes a smart guy and cool as hell.

^^^Thanks Mikey ^^^ You're even cooler.
Yes indeed, everything anyone needs to know is on that link. The head is off a Jap spec 929, front housing off an 1.8 Bongo, and intake off a 626 from Finland. Pistons and rings are off a 92 mx6. The engine is bored out 40 over. so it's pretty much a 2.2 12 valve 626 motor but with the stock distributor location and carbed.

wow.... thats alot of shipping lol, looks good man, notice a big power difference?
it definitly looks cool, and simple

Yeah it sure was a hefty pocket full of change for the shipping LOL.

I can definetly notice the change. it is not massive as if I had a V8, but I would be conservative and say around 120 125 HP with all the other mods added to the parts. that's still better than 85HP stock. That head is phenomenal compared to the 8 valve head. It's a higher reving engine than before. I would hardly redline the other engine and even at that it did not give any more power past 4300RPM's. I change gears at 4000 RPMs and 4500 Rpms like nothing now, and when I push it, I shift at 6000RPMS.

The whole engine is complemented by a 5 speed miata transmission so it doesn't feel like the stock truck at all, and it rides/shifts more like a car.

I had the head lying around, so instead of rebuilding my worn out 2.0 JDM spec motor i had laying around I invested a little extra to get something different going on. i wasn't really building this for "power gains" But I did benefit from the swap.
