Just looking for the best way to modify the lines so my custom inner fenders have more room to touch the fire wall. Is it possible to get rid of the distribution block near the brake booster the lines run into? I know i can get a tubing bender and some generic lengths of brake hard line but I'm curious what everyone else has done to clean this area up for more room.

I just used my hands to bend the factory lines around to where i needed them, then cut them to length and reflared them. Im not sure about the distbution block your talking about i have one on the pass side but not by the boster. if it is the one on the pass side you need to keep it because it has a restrictor in it for the rear brakes.

I don't have a pic at the moment but what I did with mine was run the 2 brake lines from the master cylinder back to the firewall then down to the frame, forward to the motor mount area, then down to the cross member under the oil pan. The distribution block is down there. That way I don't have any brake / clutch lines running above the valve cover on the firewall like is shown on Jason's pic. Was just a choice I made at the time. Not better or worse, just different. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply guys. The distribution block i have to deal with is pretty big and makes a mess of getting the fender in there cleanly. here is what i have to deal with.



My car isn't going to be super showy but rather than notch the fender i would like it to extend right to the firewall. I think i will cut and re flare those two factory lines because other than the two lines the fender should just fit by the distribution block. removing all those hard lines from the upper engine bay is a real clean way of getting that done! Thanks for your input guys I'll finish it up today

I have the same distribution block and was wondering the same thing about how to use sheetmetal tubs and hide/relocate this hideous thing. Keep the info coming.

Interesting Jason. Wonder if different year trucks or maybe Canada vs US makes a difference. Mine originally looked just like SkrapinSask photo. My setup now looks a lot more like Jason's second pic except that instead of going over the brake booster, the 2 brake lines, and in my case the one clutch line, go under the brake booster.

^^^ yup, the ABS equipped trucks have a different propotioning valve, and it has a module on the frame over the rear axle which makes it a pain to work with

So what years did they have abs I have never had one but then again the newest one I have had is a 88 so that may have something to do with it. Its something I have never had to deal with and im glad I think the non abs style is much nicer.
