When you get ready to install the new advancer, you will probably find that the plate which is supposed to move, does not.

The grease that is supposed to lubricate the plate so that it is free to move, gets hard and loses the ability to do anything but act like glue.

So you will probably find that you have to spray the area with some kind of solvent (P-B Blaster) to free it up.

After that, some white lithium should keep it free to move.

I would hope that after you get the new advancer installed, you post your results in this thread, so that others can see that your problem has been resolved, or if it has not, that further steps resolve the issue in this thread.

And on a side note, the only things I have ever been able to get from a Checker's around here is sodium-loaded fast-food. Maybe they are better at supplying food, than auto parts.

But I kind of doubt it.

trust me i will post up if it has fixed the issue or has not. the plate that the arm is suppose to move isn't stuck i can move it with my hand, but i will clean it up and lube it. i gotta wait till cash comes in and special order it, and it will take a few days. thank you.

funny thing i was reading around here, fuel filter came to mind, i changed it when i got the truck with a stock filter. pulled it, drained it slightly brown then black. went to the auto part store grabbed a fram filter that you can see threw it. slapped it on, trucks runs like a bad outta hell now, no issue what so ever.

I guess you needed both parts.

Glad it's fixed now.

this sounds like my problem also. mine also idles low, around 500-600. my 89 b2200 has 130k on it. I bought it with about 110k on it. it was fine when I got it, but sputters now. I removed the dizzy cover to see what we're talking about and nothing would move by hand (not sure if it's supposed to or not), but I'd like more info on what piece/s should move, what could now be "glued" together, what needs to be lubed, etc. so I can fix this
