Yeah that little hose is pretty high up on the engine itself which is what you need, it might not remove the full %100 of the air but it removes alot of it, that's for sure.

As for the oil, the only engine I wouldn't run synthetic in is a rotary, it burns oil in the fuel as it's running and synthetic oils don't burn in the same way as organic.
This causes a buildup of gunk which isn't good for the engine itself.
As far as synthetic oil in a b2k? It's a bit of a waste really, they're not high hp engines and usually don't run a turbo so it's a bit overkill if you ask me (personal opinion only).
The engine itself is just a shiny version of a forklift motor, they're meant to run forever, that's why they make them with big tolerances for long life, I would only use synthetic if I was running hydraulic lifters, with mechanical lifters i'd use nice thick organic oil, much cheaper and does the same job... in a truck that is

i fully agree with you dev, i have never messed with a rotary engine but i have been working in aviation for 10 years, been to many schools and learned a lot of stuff about engines, oils, etc. etc. they preach synthetic oils all the time is the schools. the synthetic oils are thinner, lubricate better and disperse heat faster. which in turn makes the engine last a lot longer. no you don't have to run synthetic on these engines, it is a lot of over kill really, but if you are a fanatic about maintenance like i am on my vehicles, you use synthetic. i was paying like $6.50 a quart when i had my 89 but i did a full rebuild on that engine myself, my 83 burns so much damn oil i use the cheap shit. hahaha. when i get home i am dropping a 4.3. in it so i will be doing everything right.

why are you going to swap to a 2.2 head? they suck! keep the 2.0 head, the only difference in the 2 are the lifters. the 2.2 has hydraulic lifters that float all the time, the 2.0 has mechanical lifters. i swapped my 2.2 head on my 2.2 block for a 2.0 head and loved it! just had to adjust the lifters every other oil change, and probably didn't even have to do that. 75 bucks sounds about right. any place that does the flush should be alright to take it to.
