pulling engine on 91 b2600i 2wd auto

hi, i'm hoping to get some info before i jump into this project. my truck has low compression in #4 so i'm going to pull the motor and rebuild it. is there anything i should know before i start? any tips/tricks? i'm a toyota tech and have worked on more toyota engines than i can remember but this is my first mazda so i just want to know what i'm getting into.

ok, i finally go it pulled this weekend. wasn't too bad but i'm still wondering why the hell they put 4 hard to get to bolts at the top of the bellhousing.
anyway, now i'm looking for a gasket kit and noticed you can get one on ebay for about $105. it comes with all gaskets, rings and bearings which is all of the things i want to replace. i just don't know what the quality of this kit is. has anyone used it? where else can i get all of this for a good price?

and for $95 more you can get pistons.

as for felpro, i used a felpro gasket on this truck and wasn't really impressed by the quality but if you guys prefer it then i'll go for that one, i'm just shopping around to get the best price because i'm trying to keep costs at a minimum.

did you pull the tranny with the engine, or the engine by itself? i have a b2600i and pulled the tranny out after i first got it to change the clutch and dont remember it being too hard to pull, and ive done a pull/reinstall of motor and tranny connected on a 81 b2000 and dont remember it being too hard. my honda was the hardest thing ive swapped but that was cause it was fwd.

i left the tranny in. i've done a few honda and to me they were too easy.
