i pulled my 92 accord out the top. that was a bit of a chore, no book, not really knowing what i was doing and not having all the tools i needed made it tricky. i do like the rwd setup, its easier to pull a tranny on than a fwd if you need to change a clutch lol. and everything isnt packed so tightly in the engine bay

ok, wow. so today i tore the motor apart and found all kinds of stuff. first, someone has rebuilt this motor before and did a horrible job. second, it looks like all they did was re-ring it and put new bearings in but the #1 piston has some bad scoring and none of the cylinder have any evidence of being honed.

my plans are to hone and re-ring the pistons and install all new bearings. i also need to replace 3-4 lifters.

i was surprised to the how big the dish in the piston is, can someone post pics of their engine so i can see if i have the right pistons? i also need to know how to reinstall the balance shafts.

thank you.

skimping on the prices now will cost you twice as much (if not, more) later on down the road.

i completely understand. i NEVER skimp when it comes to repairs but i've spent so much money on this truck that i'm just done with it. its been sitting for months and thats the only reason i'm doing the rebuild. my uncle wants the truck as is but he lives in canada, i thought i'd do the rebuild because honestly i'm just bored and want to see this thing run good just once. he'll probably end up doing a swap anyway.

hey one more question. i believe the stock C/R is 8.4:1, does anyone make higher compression pistons for these? the cylinder bores are a little scored so i'm going to try to go .020 over.
