so my truck is having some issues.. i changed my wires, cap and spark plugs.. as well got my computer rebuilt.. but idk what the problem could be..

basically i had problems with the truck.. would accelerate.. so i changed wires plugs and cap.. still nothing so i got my computer rebuilt.. now my engine idles fine ( sometimes has a little pop) and when i accelerate fast it just bogs and its not how it used to be.. so idk if i installed the cap wrong or something? does anyone have ideas since i dont know what has caused this problem

How long was it sitting for? Does it seem to idle really low?

idle seems to be fine.. i still have to see if all plugs have spark.. but im pretty sure they do.. its been sitting for a while then i started it up easily.. and then waited a week and same thing

I would check the wires, could be some bad gas. When is the last time you changed the fuel filter?

I would double check the timing for sure, that could cause loss of power, and can cause it to back fire. Also make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks.

its not badgas.. i changed the fuel filter.. i will check the timing

hmmm, bogging can be caused by two things. You did mention rebuilt ECU, so am I to assume that this is an efi truck? Things that it could possibly be include:
fuel related:
a clogged fuel tank sock, weak fuel pump, a restriction in the line before the fuel filter, failing/failed fuel pressure regulator, dirty injectors
ignition related:
timing of dizzy
cam/crank timing
weak ignition module
weak ignition coil

for fuel, one could reverse purge the lines with compressed air, to remove any debris. just take the fuel cap off when doing such.

for ignition, it's really only possible to test with a known good donor of components.

thanks for the replies guys!

i checked my timing and it was good.. my plugs are new but im going to check for good spark in each of them.. and my wire arrangement is correct..
i can prob post a video of the sound and such

Yeah a video will help, I had to re read your description lol

ever think that when the ecu was redone. maybe it wasnt set to your truck..as in,, if you have a 2000 and maybe it was set for a 2200 or a 2600 or 2600i.just a thought i had. maybe it will help. cover all the bases and check the easy stuff first..but if you are getting ANY backfire its that timing is not set to fuel...Dae

its more of a popping not back fire.. ill make a video
