i know a few of you mess around with hondas as well as your trucks so i was going to ask a question to see if anybody can help me out. Dad has a 91 honda civic hatch that runs like a champ. Once it gets hot outside like 90+ days his car will not crank. After he leaves his doors open for 5 or 10 minutes it will fire right up. Sometimes it does it sometimes it doesnt. Has no coorelation with engine temp or last time driven. You guys know of anything in these cars that get hot and cause it not to crank?
check the ing. relay not sure where it is on them but its a place ot start.. my brothers bmw did that..everything turned on like it was working but it just didnt crank over...therelay wasnt telling the starter to turn on
fuel pump relay those square civics were terible for that, at least every one i had, there under the dash hence why it craps when it gets hot, the blower motor on cool outside air will speed the restart when in a jamb...lol
don't know after installing never had one longer than 6 months to know if it was permanent. the stock ones failed from age and fatigue so I imagine it would be good for many years
Got a '90 hatch myself. I cheated on mine, I drilled a X like a dice in both ends to help it breath. An when I put it back in I mounted it so it was like a stack so if it got warm the hot air would make it out the top.
