project mazaru? or suzda?

will be doing. the nice weather for the 2 days got me motivated to start working on the truck more lol. told and showed my dad whats up, he jsut shook his head haha.

will the motor fit? they're very wide engines. or are you going to modify the chassis rails to fit the heads in? are you also going to install the whole independent rear suspension setup too?

or you could just midmount the engine like im doing?

whatever the case, this will sound cool and confuse people well and good!

the other option you have is to just cut the body off the legacy and cut the floor off the truck, then mate the two together (and reinforce the floor and back portion etc). that might be easier than setting up pickups for the strut suspension and making everything else fit. post up some pics once you get into it, this will be cool.

ya i thought about taking the body off the subaru and adding the mazda shell. but thats no fun lol thats kinda not easy per say but the easy way of the 2 to do it. i want a full truck.

anywho ive got some updates. havent been on here in a while and we got a couple 6 degree weather days so it was beautiful outside. i was working mostly on the subaru.

the truck i got the engine harness out, dash seats carpet are out. basically i just need an engine hoist to pull the thing out.

the subaru i ripped out the front and rear seats, ripped out the carpet, dash and dash support beams i guess you could call them. i did this to start getting at ALL the wiring...and wow...what have i got myself into lmao. engine bay all the wires have been labelled and disconnected to be removed. removed the radiator intake box and thats all i really needed for the engine bay. the engine harness i got all disconnected last night, just have to pull it through the firewall. next warm day (which doesnt look to be for a week) i'll get the wiring out of the subaru, and start working on getting that engine ready to be pulled out. im still trying to find a good wiring diagram of the subaru so i can start removing all unneccessary wires and figure out which ones i still need from the mazda harness.

nothing of this is really picworthy cause its just 2 gutted vehicles. i picked up a 99 wrx type ra tranny from japan. its a quick geared ratio so should pull very quick off the line. just collecting parts right now as money permits.

update with pics time. so from my last update i managed to pull the wiring harness out of the subaru. thursday night my dad had a great present! he got a free engine hoist from work so friday i pulled the mazda engine and tranny out, exhaust is out, took off front bumper, torsion bars and driveshaft. next to come is to push the mazda out of the garage and pull the subaru in for measuring and engine removal next getting exciting! few pics from my phone

subaru subframe has been pulled. it includes struts, engine, tranny and steering rack. i also cleaned out the subaru engine bay. next i need to pull the subaru out and start measuring and fitting the engine in
