Hello everyone.

First off this is the most informative Forum I have ever seen. I really like this place.

Here is the deal. Im rebuilding my 86 B2000 into a drift truck.

Details,

Static drop. frame and rockers 3 inches off ground

Body drop. Not sure if its going to be traditional or sectioned

Suspension. Custom LCA's and coilovers. Repacked leafs and blocks.

Engine. Mildly built NA stock motor for now, boosted KA24 DE later.

Full cage tied into bed. Bed floor will be raised and remain intact because I carry motorcycles often.

Hopefully I can set it up to tuck 20's, but I doubt ill run that big of wheels.

Im rebuilding the stock motor as cheaply as possible, as in gaskets and thats it.

lots of progress....interesting lil project i must say. i will be following this one

Sr20's are rare around here. Seems everyone wants them.

I should be able to find a KA24 for a decent price. Plus all forged internals and a 450 hp capability stock is also a plus.

Hunter you have the wheels I want. I love those. I have some stock steel 17's ill run for now.

Thanks everyone.

Here is my first big delima. This truck is going to be driven hard and I need a high steering angle. I will make tubular LCA's and may swap in a rack and pinion for high angles.

The problem is High steering angles and fenders. 4X4 fenders would be nice but I highly doubt there will be enough room.

Im thinking about sectioning and widing the front fenders by about 1" to 1.5". I would cut the top edge right next to the hood and form a filler. There will be a gap at the end of the fender like widebody car fenders. Something like this...

I just dont know how it will look but It is the only option I can think of.

Anyone seen anything like this done to one of these trucks?

As a benefit I can see it evacuating more air from the engine compartment.

these guys run small wheel tire combos and dont tuck tire much.

I can't wait to see this one completed. Looks good keep it up. I almost went this route but choose to keep the air ride. I do still have the turbo mx-6 motor that i plan to drop in soon.
