Installed the HID's today. Next on the to-do list... wait for the rear end to come back from the shop (getting shortened) and reinstall that with new brakes.
Eventually I'll get started on the bed floor. Kinda dreading it...

wow those lights are bright as fawk! Such a clean front end.
Don't dread the bed floor, just jump right into it and get it done. Ive got a body drop coming up this month and was sort of dreading that as well but we will hop right into it and kick it's ass.

hey mike did you have to add anything extra to accomodate for the leds?

Hey Kovz, you interested in makin some coin? I'd like to buy a crossmember from you (obviously you make it like yours is, behind the oil pan) and a speedo cable like you have. Ive called a couple places, they said they cant do anything for me. Let me know.

and keep up the awesome work!

Maz, I had the speedometer cable made from a company called speedometer solutions. It was around $200-250 (I forget). But I sent them my stock cable, they cut the tranny end off, added a new gear and a ratio converter. They have a quick turnaround and quality work.

Thanks Mazdamn.

Made some good progress on the truck this weekend. I went to two steel distributors on Friday. I bought a 5'x10' sheet of 16ga for $93. It was huge carrying it in my full size truck, but I made it home safely without scratching anything. I also bought (4) 6' pieces of 1"x1" tubing with 1/8" wall. This will be used for the bracing of the new bedfloor. I got those for $41. I also stopped by Harbor Freight and picked up an electric sheet metal shears that cuts up to 14ga so it worked perfect with the 16ga.
The shears make a neat spiral when they cut, haha.

I put a piece on the inside of the tailgate.

Here's a picture of the tailgate and rollpan ready for body work. I filled in the gaps between the tacks with more tacks so it's fully welded now.

Not sure if I mentioned in this thread before, but I basically learned to weld before building this truck. I did not do any of the welding on my old S10 and I really wanted to learn how and do it myself. So I bought a welder and had some friends teach me. I am pretty happy with the training I received from them. Practice makes perfect.
