I've spent 2,650. on chrome just on the engine alone. The motor i used is the original B2000 motor with 250,000 miles on it, before i rebuilt it.

Did you completely do away with the computer as well? I would imagine going to carb and eliminating all the smog stuff you could clean up all the wiring as well.....

What do ya'll who switch to carb do about a fuel pump, etc....???

Tuna started with a carbed B2000. He is still running the computer in his truck (I asked him via pm last week).

A fuel pump doesn't work off of the computer, it either works off of a cam (mechanical) or it works off of a switched 12v source (electric).

I have an 86 B2000 that I wanna put a Weber on and eliminate all the smog, and would also like to get rid of the computer and all the wiring mess and start over with a new universal truck harness from painless or similar and was curious about the stock fuel tank/pump, but I may end up just running a fuel cell with a new fuel pump/regulator...
was just curious what tuna did about all this...

I'll keep you updated on what I'm going to do. First I would figure out what all the computer controls, then go from there. I plan on using the factory harness and eliminating everything that isn't being used. I'll go further into detail when I get to that point.

Fuckin sick build man I've been looking for a chrome shop, but I'm kinda nervous mailing stuff out and I haven't found one local,

I can't wait to see this finished!

What do you intend on using to polishing the trans with? I did one with a buffing wheel and got a good shine. But for a mirror shine you'll have to mess with compounds. As hard as ive tried i cany get those to work for me. I always just have to do it the hard way, working my way up through grits.

Now I just paint the motors and trans lol

Good luck man,
