Cool! I had to re-paint my GTO engine after I bought it for the same reason.......go to a car show, they want to see the engine!
You might have to raise the bar in the engine compartment now that the int. and ext. are in top shape!

Time for a small block Chevy and a wire tuck!

Thinking maybe a kia swap over the winter time. Or something like a 2.3l turbo from a svo mustang or turbo coupe. I still have a motor I built last year for my mustang sitting on a stand so I need to get that done first

Got the block painted black and a bunch of the accessory brackets cleaned up. Going to rebuild the carb tonight and hopefully take some pics

Got the motor all back together I'll get a better pic saturday at the car show

Big improvement- definitely show worthy now

Fixed my wipers too. Turns out the mice made a nice home behind the wiper motor. Pulled 5 hand fulls out and more with the shop vac

I think the 2.3l turbo engine is a GREAT choice!

I wish I would have done that to my truck, but I'm too far down the line now.

Check this out 2.3l turbo related.

Also, unlike the Mazda 2.0, or 2.2l there are plenty of aftermarket parts, like forged pistons, forged connecting rods, and even stroker cranks.

Won 3rd place with the truck and 3rd with the bike. Have another show next month so maybe I'll do better there

Congrats Mazdizzle!

Hey, you deserve it after all the time and energy (money too!) you put into your truck......let us know how you do in the next show also.

The engine looks way better now! Nice job!

Time to work on the truck again. The front license plate really bothers me so I bought a primed bumper and welded up the holes. Now I have to decide if I want to have it chromed (around $200) or paint it to match the truck. Any suggestions?
