so ive owned my 86 b2000 long bed for about 5 days now and i have to say shes coming along nicely. i am unsure of the direction i am going to go with mods (drop bags or what) but for now im just replacing all the messed up things that previous owner had done to it. i went to the local pic a part and spent 150 bucks today and i have to say it was well worth it. ill let my pics do the talking now so i dont bore you lol

i just got the bumpers tail lights and a bunch of other things off a 91 b2600i. the back bumper isnt as cool as a roll pan but i figured id try something different and more in my current budget

You got lx chrome parts... You need the chrome door handles along with window trim to go with it... You can actually find people willing to pay good money for that chrome rear bumper if it's mint condition

oh wow i didnt know that. i dont remember if the truck the bumper came off had window trim but i know the door handles were gone. i guess for 40 bucks a bumper i did ok

hey i like it! but if its an 86 b2k why does it have b2600i badges? just curious what are you thinking for paint or do you like the ratrod look?

i just took the badges off the parts truck i was using and put them on to throw people off the primers going to stay for now. eventually after i get the fenders and bed the way i want im going to paint it but for now im leaving it with the "under construction look"

haha thats funny but it does look cool! im thinking about doing my hood flat black because its all faded but the rest of my paint is alright i just wish i had the time and money for a top to bottom restore so my 4x4 could really turn heads. just got some new rims and tires and it changed the look up quite a bit

UPDATE! so its been an week since i bought my 86 b2000 longbed. since then ive swapped out both bumpers, put in a new chrome grill, new headlights tail lights and park lamps, painted it "under construction" primer, purchased a set of 15" pathfinder wheels with low pro tires, misc interior parts that were missing and a full tune up. here are some before and after pics in case some of you havnt seen them.

the only thing i have left that i plan on doing is getting the windows tinted on monday and after that im not sure. my dad thinks i should lower it an so do i but i dont want to lose the truck uses. i dont know much about lowering trucks, so is there a certain block or something that would lower it a little bit but still be able to go over rocks and up driveways with ease? or should i just leave it at the stock height? thanxs for looking and thanks for any suggestions

well i agree it would look sweet lowered a couple inches. as for keeping the functionality i dont know. slamming it will make it show only id think mines a 4x4 so its about function over form for the most part lol. i dont know anything about lowering them haha.
