Where to go in south florida?

Ok im moving in march to south florida and i dont where yet. ive found places in pompano homestead lauderdale and various others and i know a gang of you guys are from the south. im originally from west palm but thats really affordable so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. im lokin for a place to raise a family ive got a 4 month old and a wife and a weiner dog. so again suggestions please!

I live in Delray which is nice. It's much more suburban where I live at, even though it's right near downtown delray. Personally, I'd find a job before I decide where to move down in south Florida - commuting down here sucks - seems best to live close to your work here.

ive got jobs lined up with the boca police and westpalm police and lauderdael sheriff im probabloy gonna go boca police. i found a bunch of places just not sure. and thanks for the support guys but tampa is not gonna happen the wife loves west palm so it has to be close to west palm. ill be there for xmas. i was going to be there for thanksgiving but the navy doesnt care about frivolous holidays and such.

WEST PALM is costing alot more than boca these days. the shit/shoe box houses with no land are going for 200,000 plus no matter what area you look in. Even the hood isnt affordable these days. You're going to want to probably stay north a lil, look around in martin county (about 25 minutes north of west palm

Yeah, everywhere is expensive. If you can get a job in the northern part of Palm Beach county or Martin, you'll get a better place for the cash you'll pay. Unfortunately, my job is in Boca (and my g/f goes to FAU, soon FIU) so I'll be going south more!
