setting the valves back to .008" tonight, .010" is a little noisey. retarded timing, runs like a scorched bitch

did some nitty gritty stuff with the truck over the weekend, had a stripped lower alternator bolt, and the alt shook and made noise, thought the noise was coming from my head at first, got everything just about perfect. mixture screws are turned about 1 and 1/2 instead of 3/4 of a turn now that everything is working right and I have no leaks, runnin great. pulled my stamped gate off the other truck, sanded and primered it, installed it on my newer one, pulled bumper caps off the old truck and put them on the new one, the rear end ain't so ugly now. ill have a pic tomoro, my phones dead. lol trucks really coming around, just need to wash my greasy hand prints off of it from last weeks, head and ring job.

still some oil dripping out the bottom of the tail gate, some got spilled last week when I did the rings and head. I keep wiping it but It keeps coming. lol

stupid f$#@ing meter fuse! decided half way to work that it would go ahead and blow disabling all gauges and signal lights, didn't effect speedo as its driven by cable. replaced it with one from my a/c.

blew a coolant hose on saterday at the waffle house, ate my food and fixed the hose, went to cracker barrel yesterday, blew another coolant hose, after I ate there, I had to walk to the nearest autozone to get a new hose, replaced it, made it to moms for mothers day, opened the hood cause my truck wouldn't idle hardly b4 and after I replaced the hose. looked down and reved the motor and water was shooting out of my #3 exhaust manifold recirculation hose where it attaches to the mani. so after the head and ring job, gotta tear it back down and replace the head gasket again, probly going to have to get my head looked at to make sure it didn't warp, I never let it over heat so I hope all is well, and theres no leaks on the side of the motor. also, I took my overflow hose off while the truck was running and there was a nice trail of exhaust smoke coming out of the overflow hose!!! madder than hell but things happen.

so, pulled the head last night and i was surprised at what i saw.......kinda. being i spent 60 bux on what was supposed to be one of the best gaskets, (the best that advance carry) i was a little surprised.



see? right there between #3 and 4? the coolant hole blew out, too much pressure and the gasket just give out. A FELPRO GASKET AT THAT!! damnit, atleast its covered under warranty. im picking up the new one today, gotta clean my head up AGAIN and drain/change my oil AGAIN!!! cause its covered in milk. such a pain in the ass.
