I really question humanity... Especially on days like today.
I was sitting at a red light in the town I live in (Windsor, CO) and while sitting there my truck jumped forward a couple feet. I was at the time adjusting my seating position and figured my foot slipped off the clutch. Well my wife thought otherwise amd said "I think that asshole hit u." and when I turned around to look the driver of the truck quickly sped off into the other Lane and through the red light. I couldn't see his tag numbers and there wasn't anyone else around. The truck in question was a mid 00 's black lifted 4x4 Ford 150.
Cops said that since there were no witnesses that there was no way to prove it and to call my insurance company to see what they would cover. Well that turned out to be nothing so now I'm stuck with another bent to shit tailgate...

Yeah, I feel your pain. I've had hit-and-runs where I'm the "hittee". I once had a guy getting his Christmas tree with his kids drop a ladder. The semi in front of me drove over it and curved the ladder. It punched my grill and flipped over my Grand Am.
When he came to retrieve it, he simply asked, "Is everyone alright?" I said, "No one's hurt. But..." and I was cut off by him driving off. Sneaky turd drove backwards so we couldn't see his plates.
Police told me the same thing. No plates, no witnesses, no case.
