Hey Guys, Names James
im from New zealand and this is my build thread. its not a mazda but still same family Ford courier
i brought it bagged with standard 2 litre engine paint was custom but average condition and same with the interior
droped main bearing in the ute 3 years ago been of the road since but been through a bit...
started of looking like
minus front mount
with mates old merc
tray
rear, seen bit better from cats eyes
after bearing going i had always liked the sr so i ended up putting an sr20de+t in ute, pics as follow of stages
sticker i found on net =)
pretty much how it ended up but then was quoted $3g to finish it as for tuning cert etc so i found a better option .....
package up the sr
and replacement with the rb
after the sr being in and the old engine the paint was looking shocking including tailgate shaved hande poping through, fuel flap shaved poping through, were old bumper mounts looking ugly and dents so took it to my mates workshop were we got stuck into it
hacked out whole front and started front box section
final result
made new engine mounts 7mm plate steel
as rb sticks out bit more than sr had to cut of front and make up a new radiator mount and intercooler mount as you can see engine test fit also
shaved top firewall and primered rest
final result
has all been painted will upload some more pics of progresswen have camera back hopefully tomorrow

cheers guys, yea the bumpers are pretty sweet over here. its a toyota hilux aftermarket bumper and the grill is one of a kind made from a kenworth truck so havnt seen any like it around.
anyway got the camera so heres some more pics, enjoy and let me no what you think =)

new manifold for engine pretty stocked, brand new t04e and 38mm tial waste gate
first body paint just done clear, (sorry have none that i can find pre clear)
rest of ute painted...
guards fresh paint and clear
rear end, as from previous pics have fixed rear have put box section bar right the way around for strength, have a pic bit later
engine in and painted cam covers, fuel rail and belt cover
showing gap between front of engine and radiator, very close but still going to work =)
on the left is my old valves needed a bit of a freshen up so i decided to get 8 new valves look very nice, 1/2 inch very quick

next on agenda is to put back in interior and driveshaft hoops break lines and a couple more things to get it ready for cert.

cheers guys have another update..
but that other truck is my mates one in the workshop its toyota hilux with 300mm firewall chop, toyota supra twin turbo, supra front suspension with nearly 90 degree wheel lock has independent fully adjustable toe, strut, camber arms so set to whatever you want front bars up front to making it to be fully legal drift ute, as there are also other cars in there that im doing with my mates, 190e drift merc with rb20det going to have silvia suspension etc, mazda b2000 single cab bagged (in process) 12a rotary hilux shaved engine bay etc and ford lazer fwd 1800dohc turbo runing link computer. keeps us entertained for a while =)
any way..
have been working on geting under ute finished so can all be ticked of. fixing break lines running drive shaft and doing the safety hoops. these have been a c**t and tricky but managed to make them
front hoop
rear hoop just been made
just have to finish break lines and get bolts for hoops and under neath will be complete
have my "V" energy catch can for breather 16mm inside diameter is quite expensive so found a cheaper way to do it from mate and looks good
old garden hose. finished result
finishing interior next and wiring then be just about ready for test drive =)

bit of an update of progress..
decided it was time to finish all of my under carriage all drive train etc so that i could take it for a test drive. but had a few problems. stalling when boosting, running to hot and melting oil feed line so was time to fix the problems. done a bit of shopping and got Turbo Timer, electric fan, New feed line, turbo beanie and a chip for the ecu.
Just got it all back together just working out idleing brought new spark plugs so just about ready for another test drive. Also just got window put in tonight. heres some pics anyway and a quick vid before chip was put in =)...
