Time for a project thread.
Here we go.

I picked up the truck in October 2012 as my first ever car. My family has had B series pick ups for as long as I've been alive, so I wanted one for myself. After looking at a few and having a few slip away to more eager buyers, I jumped on this one as soon as I saw the ad. With a bad description, blurry picture of only the front end and a $1000 asking price, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in person.
What I arrived to was a clean interior and exterior ext cab with a 3 owner past and every maintenance record and receipt since it rolled off the lot. The 300xxx+ kms odometer was the only uncertainty, but the owner had a baby on the way and new truck, so scored it for $800.

Here she is first day of ownership

Then I finally got a stereo. Never appreciated them until I didn't have one for 3 months

Truck stayed the same until recently. Took advantage of the long weekend to deal with my faded grill and messed up bumper. Managed to get off my lazy ass to give little blue a face lift.

Gross

Grill pulled off, left the bumper on because I know how they are a pain to pull off. Got to work sanding

Bumper was straighter than I expected, not too much rust either.

Grill primed (by the dog, not me)

I used the same tactic to paint my grill.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I don't have a real solid plan yet, but I know I want to replace the tired 4 banger with a small block chev at some point. I'm not a huge fan of super low, so I plan to just give it an aggressive stance and close the gap between the tires and fenders.

Speaking of which, I cranked down the torsion bar bolts about 4 rotations, so it's got a little more rake than before.

Also, I made an attempt at restoring my tails. The bezels and lenses were pretty faded (hard to tell from picture) so I felt the need to give em new life
thread post photo

Sanded the bezels and sprayed them with the left over satin black from the grill, and scuffed up the lenses with a scotch brite pad and gave them a coat of clear. Again, its hard to tell from the pictures, but the lenses look good considering I used walmart clear that has been sitting in the cupboard for who knows how long.
