Wow, I didn't know Ranger owners have this much hate for s-10's. I have an s-10 and its my "nice" truck. My ranger is just my daily driver but it's not that bad either its come a long way since i got it five months ago.(Tweeding the interior this weeked Woot!). The reason I got an s10 is because I like Chevy and Love the styling of the s10. Contrary to Popular ranger owner belief S10's are buit very well. Ive hade mine for over 4 years and have not had one problem with it. Daily driven Bagged. Also Ive seen many old s-10s and fullsize chevys still on the road but only a handfull of old rangers and fullsize fords. So whats the deal with that? Anyway I build my truck the way I like it and thats all that matters to me. I don't really care who else has one or if its just like mine. I don't build my trucks for anyone else but me. Everyone in the world could have an s10 and I wouldnt give a shit.

So whats wrong with bolt on parts anyway? it just sounds like your mad that they make alot of parts for s10's and not your truck. But there is a reason for that, and that reason is the s10 is an extremly popular truck and the ranger is not. It just doesnt make sense to make a part thats only going to sell a few hundered units when you can make a part that will sell thousands. Having said that and being a Ranger owner myself I wish they made more things for them but that is just not the case. So I deal with it.

um....more rangers have been sold the s-10s since forever, so, how is the s-10 more popular?

bolt-ons suck because it take almost no skill, knowledge, or anything to use bolt-ons. Unscrew stock piece, screw on replacement piece. Wow...difficult. Besides, when you've got 1000000s of bolt-ons, everyone will be 'modding' the vehicle, so where's the uniqueness? You could spend $5000 on an S-10....in bolt ons, not including bags....take it a show and be one of many. Spend $5000 on a Ranger and you actaully have something that is different and unique.

I have a 99 ranger ext. cab with the 3.0 and have had it in a ton of times to fix the engine ping even with premium fuel. Still isn't fixed. My S10 is 9 years old with 200k miles on it and has only been down once for a new water pump. For the money the S10 has been a better value. and $5000 in bolt ons? If you buy bolt ons expecting big gains, then you deserve to be wasting your money. But, you can accessorize and be like everyone else. Which is ok too. Spend $5000 on a ranger and what do you have? A ranger. In the end it's still a Ford. But at lest they were nice enough to circle the problem for us.

Since bolt ons suck so much im guessing that you dont have a single bolt on on your truck then? if you dont have stock wheels those are bolt ons. if your grill isnt stock thats a bolt on. if you have clear coners or euro lights those are bolt ons.if you have a rollpan thats a bolt on. how about a bedcover. Point is if you have anything close to a custom truck there is going to be a bolt on somewhere so i dont see how you can hate them. I guess your just one of those special few who is master fabricator and you do everything to your truck by hand. right?

BTW Just because rangers have sold more doesnt mean they are still on the road today and thats the point i was trying to make.

S10's are more popular...get over it.

BTW my s10 is STILL going, and it's got 160,000+miles on it.(4.3 Vortec V6)
