Any updates on your '72? I have NEVER seen a Mazda that old. There use to be a few old Couriers running around town, but I haven't seen them in a decade or better. Willing to bet they have gone to the crusher by now.
Tubbed out rear end, some fatty drag radials & a snotty small block would be my route with it. It would definitely have a WTF factor. lol.
Regardless, glad to see you're fixing it up & getting it back on the road.

Not really any updates so far just finished up the rear brakes. Took the seat and the floor mat out and the rust is worse than i thought. It was definitely beach truck because theres white scale all over the under side of it.
I like the idea of a small block but i want to keep it more "jdm" if you would call it and put a rotary in it maybe like a turbo II but i dont REALLY care if its fast or not its nostalgic and thats the why i like it!

Hate to hear about the rust. I can imagine that would be a death blow for most with a Mazda of that vintage, mainly due to the rarity of parts. Hope you can keep it going.
I would be fine with a rotary too. They blow my mind.
