I bought this pickup for a slight project. I didn't really want to dig into the motor much, just raise it back up and make it a good daily driver again. I bought it with an idle issue, after fussing with the carb, trying to clean and adjust it, I elected to get a weber 32/36. The truck wouldn't idle after it was installed, turns out intake gasket I installed ripped, and I needed a pressure regulator. I bought a new gasket and a holly pressure regulator, installed both and the truck was running great. I am an idiot and forgot to fill coolant, Aprox 2 miles into the first ride with the new carb, I overheated it. I thought I could hopefully just pull the head and replace the head gasket, but after it was off and I inspected it, the head gasket looked just fine and I didn't see any head cracks. So now, to be safe, I have a remanufactured head, new head gasket, new pistons, rings and bearing set on the way. I am pretty new to this in depth of a project, so all the advise you have will be greatly appreciated. Also, a big thank you to all of you that have helped me so far. All the threads on rebuilding a motor, and lots of you tube are a huge help!
