I set the timing at 6 degrees advanced, still ran rough, messed with the carb to get it running, but the truck still wanted to die out when I gave it full throttle, as well as it not wanting to idle while it was cold(more than likely the choke not set correctly). After setting the timing at about 8 degrees advanced I had about 16-18 pounds of vac at right around 1000rpms at idle. It seams to be running and starting better, but I haven't had to start it in sub 20 degree weather since. I have noticed a slight tick in the motor that my 87 also had and I have read it's the lifters and there isn't much you can do to fix, but it does get worse at high rpms which is a bit concerning for me. Pictures of progress soon to come
