Wait! I see. Duh. Missed it on the pic

On this mod I have two issues, first i need to do a little research and see if 14.5volts is normal voltage at idle (900rpm). Now the second could be related to the first and that is at idle the headlights, parking lights, dash lights all pulsate until the rpm's are raised. I am sure a V6 Ford Mustang donor car idled a bit higher and had a different size pulley maybe? Other than that the extra amperage makes a huge difference.

Agreed on pulley size and idle difference. All I know is im getting just battery voltage @ alternator while running. Another thing I think I tried (prior to seeing.g that above posted diagram) was going straight to battery with the one wire a.d my charge light wasn't on. I will re Confirm that tomorrow though. I'm almost thinking I have at least a bum regulator . I know these Ford Alts are notorious for that

Re the regulator, the 3G Ford alt on the 5.0 in my B2200 had the regulator go. It was very odd - if I turned the key on, but didn't start the engine, then turned the key off, the regulator was somehow causing a 4amp drain, which would kill the battery. If I started the engine, and turned it off, then it was ok and had a typical few hundred milliamp drain. I went through 2 brand new batteries (luckily they were replaced under warranty) before I figured out it was the regulator. I replaced it and the problem went away. So, I would agree, from what I've heard, and my experience, the Ford voltage regulators on the alternators are notorious for going bad.
