putting a taller tire on the rear is the simplest way to improve your highway mileage.

ham, i think your truck has a 205/40/17 tire which is 23.46 inches tall. by using that smaller than stock tire you are having to rev the engine higher to maintain highway speed. a 205/50/17 is 25.07 inches tall and should knock your rpm's down about 300, less revs, less fuel.

And upgrade your spark plugs, I did the same on my yota I average about 27 but it's a 4spd and it needs the carb cleaned

@ Lsumazdarider.. that's some good gas mileage man.. sounds like 007bob is right about the tire size. Thanks guys. I'm going to try a little bit of everything and see how much it improves

Have a 34/34 Weber on a 92 B2200 with Paeco cam, solid lifters, upgraded valve springs, Pacesetter header, and automatic with 16 inch wheels and tires running a/c. 20 mpg is the BEST I get . Just be sure tires are inflated to spec and u keep ur foot out of the carb.Remember, these "little" trucks weigh 4000 pounds plus.Lol.bj

mine only weighs 3000, i am at the local landfill frequently and they use a scale, subtracting my weight the truck is just over 3k

SSSSSSH. You are getting over on the landfill. My Mazda weighs a svelte 4460 pounds per the sticker on the door.If yours still has the sticker, check it out and see what it says.bj
