Ok so I bought a 1987 B2000 a couple months back, started driving it and found a major leak, fixed that and drove it some more and it overheated and developed a nasty leak so I parked it, and I've been riding my motorcycle as my daily, but with the weather getting bad I decided to get rid of the major leaks and fix the overheating issue, so I started poking around looking for the temp sender's for the coolant, found the one underneath the thermostat housing, and then found the other one on the intake manifold, and it wasn't even hooked up, and there is no wire I can see that would connect up with it, just wondering if anyone with a 1987 B2000, or something with similar wiring, could post a picture of the temp sender/sensor all hooked up so I can try to figure out where the hell the wire went.

I'm pretty sure it's the same, but at the moment it's looking like the previous owner must have chopped it out for some reason, I'm starting to get quite pissed at all the random crap he did to this truck.

ok well i dont think the temp sensor on the intake is used for anything alot of people weld the vacuum lines up on the intake i think they shave that one to i think the only one that matters is the one on the thermostat housing

but that sux though that some1 chopped up the harness

Ok one last question on sensor's, what does the lower sensor on the radiator itself do?

Oh,shit, here we go again. The Maz has three temp sensors. The one on the thermostat housing feeds ur temp gauge in the truck. The one on the intake manifold feeds the choke on the carb as the intake manifold has liquid flowing thru it.The one at the bottom of the radiator feeds the computer, the heater and the auto tranny sensor if u have an AT--the AT is heated/cooled by the rad.If u dont have AT it is basically a temp control sensor for the heater- rad not hot enough,no hot air for the heater.lol.bj
