Welcome Fladdra......

Typically you have to remove the dash completely to pull the heater core out of the truck.

What are the problems that you are experiencing? Is it that you just aren't getting any heat out of it? Or is it leaking coolant into the cabin?

If your just not getting any heat, then check the cable that moves the shut-off valve near the gas pedal of the truck (Left hand drive trucks!). Just turn the dash knob from cold to hot a few times while looking below the dash close to where the gas pedal is located.......kind of above it and right over the transmission hump.

BTW, you DO NOT have to remove the dash to check the temperature cable functions.

Here's a pic of the valve and lever that the cable controls......

if your getting no coolant in the element then your heater core may be bypassed or clogged. or the cool hot switch isnt opening to the heater core. you could also make sure your thermostat isnt stuck closed. the only thing that could keep your truck from producing heat is if theres no coolant running in the core. as long as that fans blowin air and your truck is warm, you should have heat. check for anything that could prevent coolant flow.

Hi Mazdafvr

I know that the cooler is tight,I has washed the cooler.
So do i need to take down the dash to get the heater out?

yes. in order to get to the heater core and to remove the entire essembly, the dash comes off. its very overwelming when u see it sitn outside ur truck but its really not to bad. theres just alot of hidden bolts. there ar 3 10mm bolts under the caps right under the windsheild. jus pop them caps off. thers a bolt on each side that u can see if u open the door. they have caps to. then u can take your cluster out. thats easy if u can get ur hand back there to unplug it. the speedo cable just unscrews i think. then take the middle heater panel, controls and all, and ul c a few more screws , and then take the entire glove box out and theres another 10mm bolt. its very important that it goes back on because it grounds all electronics for your dash. there may be a few more hidden but youl find them. once you get your dash out theres only a few 10mm bolts holdn the heater assembly in. your heater core is the radiator lookn unit inside all that plastic. hope this helps sorry it took so long to reply man. good luck to you. oh and one more thing. un screw your fuse box from the dash and just shove it up in there. you can leave it hooked up. and there are a few wire harnesses to unplug but you will see them . theres two i think under the drivers side of the dash.
