gots a 1989 2200 with what i believe to be a bad carb. installed new fuel pump/filter, new dist./cap/rotor/pickups, new wires/plugs. ran like shit for a while, getting worse everyday. would start, run, shut down at idle. start, run until warm, sputter and stall. bought a weber, and am a bit timid. could use some guidance. what do i do with the exhaust manifold returns to the air cleaner? do i need the header, or plug? up against the wall brothers.

man theres tons of weber info on here. just do a lil search and you will find the answers

Ideally get a header, but you can plug off the lines if you un bolt them from the stock exhaust manifold with some threaded caps.

The exact same thing you are explaining thats goin on with your mazda is the same thing mines been doin, is that a carburetor problem, cause what yours is doin is the exact same thing mine is doin and i mean the exact same thing. i changed everything you did (except for carb already had a weber 32/36 on mine) but ive rebuilt my head everythings brand new and it still doin the same thing so im just curious if that is a carb problem

i've had this problem on mine thought the same thing bought a webber carb turned out for me the lower crankshaft pulley sliped the keyway might wanna check there i heard these motors strip that keyway i had no power wouldnt go past 40mph

The thing that holds the lower crank balancer pulley in one spot... Its what lines the pulley up to be in the right location...

ah ok that little pin type deal, yeah from what i see its still there, stickin out far enough so i can still put my main pulley on for my belts. btw i did not mean to steal this thread sorry

I plugged mine returns for a few years with rubber stoppers from Ace Hardware. Then I just removed them entirely, made a block off for it from a piece of Simpson Strong-Tie from Home Depot for under $1.

Where do you have to go,to buy a replacement air filter (weber) ,or do you have to order it??
