my new truck

i just bought an 01 xlt with a 2.5L. texas 3.5/4 lowering kit (heated & cut springs, 2 leafs removed), and xl stockers painted black. (see pictures).





no, it's not in very good shape. but it runs better than mine and has 200 miles on the engine. it has no exhaust, glovebox, and it was painted poorly. a few dents, nothing major. wire-tied-on edge mesh grille. smoked (sort of) corners and tail lights.

the hood wouldn't close right, so i figured out the battery was too high. and i thought, hrm... the battery doesn't fit. i'll get another one. so i got to wal-mart stand in line for too long, come home, put the battery in... backwards. the posts on the new battery were different than the (marine) battery that was on it before, and when i put the cables on (backwards), something under the alternator started smoking, and i thought, wtf. that's when i figured out i didn't reverse the wires. i'm a fucking melonhead. now it's sitting in the driveway waiting to be taken up to ford and empty my pockets. thank jesus for credit cards.

moral of teh story: if you drive 11 hours to get a truck and dolly it 11 hours back make sure you hook the brand fucking new battery up right.

and i still have the 96.

i like the new one should be fun. one good question would be are you going to get the right suspension components cuz im sure those springs are warped and ride like all out shit! truck looks good though. oh yeah how did it come upon a new motor? sorry about the bat it happens to the best of us.

That suspension does not sound safe (I doubt whoever performed the work did it right). I would like to congratulate you on your new purchase, but it doesn't sound like it's going so well so far.

yeah i would def get some lowering springs and get them heated ones out and get a flip kit and some more leafs

nice buy i guess? looks real good but sounds like the owner before you didnt have a damn clue what they were doing lol but yea definately get rid of teh half ass suspension and replace it with the good shit...and be careful with the credit cards...those can get u in some trouble

yeah, it won't be driven until the suspension is put back to normal. i am getting 2" springs in the front, and getting the 2 leaves from a jy, and then i have a flip kit... then i'll be getting arms sometime down the line. i can't afford it now.

and it rides greeeeat. it's so smooth. my 96 is a god damn nightmare. notching soon.
