Well i have a 84 yota front end but iu cant find control arms for it. every one ive seen ither isnt making them anymore or are on back order... i went with the ranger front end...1. because i have a ranger, 2. the crossmembers beafier(sp) then the yota, cuz ill be running a 5.0... and i will also fix the camber... i know a little about all this but my dad has build and backhalfed a few cars before in his old shop so he know a little about all the geom. of it. last thing i went with this instead of custom just becuase all the mounts and everything are all ready there and in the right spots... now i can just go from there back with my 2x3 tubing.

Also one more question... why are the ranger suspensions junk?

because of the suspension design. ibeams just plain suck in everyway. 98+ sucks because the engine crossmember hangs too far down and the spindles are too tall. its not going to be easy to correct the camber on that front end unless you build a set of tubular arms for it. plus with the yota you dont need tubular arms. my friends ranger is bodydropped on 20/22 combo with a 5.0 and a c4 tranny. he is running a stock yota front clip (frame, xmember, arms, everything). the guy building his truck has been in the scene longer than most people in the scene have been alive and he is EXTREMELY knowledgable about minis and fabrication. i think they just built new motors mounts for the v8 and the rest of the frame is all 2x3.

i think that his ranger will be a rolling chassis at the RA show if you are going be sure to check it out.

I still don't see why you are saying Ranger suspensions are junk, Sure they might require more work when your installing an adjustable suspension system. What does the spindle height have to do anything? And atleast if he uses the ranger spindle he can keep the abs, rotors, and brake calipers designed for his truck. Toyota Trucks are lighter then a Ranger.

abs is ditched, its big bulky and in the way. yes toyotas are lighter BUT the spindle is so tall on rangers when u put big rims on them the camber and toe is even worse than an ibeam ranger. plus the engine cross member hangs down so low u cant "lay frame" w/ out zing it 3 in and when ub/d it, ur motor is gona hang out of the hood a shit load even if you do lower it. the design is good, just not for bodydropped minis on big rims.yes the rangers may have bigger brakes, but the pad surface area is about the same on a toyota and a ranger. only advantage is the clamping pressure of the dual pistion calipers BUT 93/94 ext cab rangers, had single piston calipers, which the piston is the bout the same as yota calipers.

I see... well like i said. I know a little about the ranger front end... and i have the djm arms to get rid of a little camber. Also im going to be raising the upper CA mounts the get rid of a little more camber... i kinda like the crossmember that is where im starting it will lay on the ground with the frame. Im also making mounts to bolt balls or blocks to drag so i dont mess anything up.... i was goin to go with the yota but said to hell with it...

ok are you doing a FULL front flip or just hte engine xmember in the ibeam frame??? also raising the control arm will affect bump steer ,caster, and may make it non alignable. the reason we say the newer ranger clips suck is becuz of the engine cross member cuz it hangs down so low.

Im doing a full swap... i have a 99 ranger frame for the fire wall forward sittin here...
