what grits would you recomend?

also what polishing compounds do you recomend ? I'm going to buff it out by hand

^^^ 3M makes a really good hand polishing compound.

buffing itout by hand will take forever!
dry sand it w/ 1500, then wet sand it w/ 3000 then use a medium compound then use a hi poilish compound

Looks good so far. I agree about the rims, I like.

I got some 3m hand/machine buffing compound and 3m glaze compund. I've got 1000 1500 and 2000 grit papers. The 1000 grit is only for the areas with runs. The advice I've been given is to be very very careful sanding and don't use the rougher grits for very long otherwise you won't have any paint left to polish. I might pick up some 3000 grit paper if you think it will make it go faster and get better results james.
