I also read an articale about dipping your "Ranger" badges in some kind of chemical I cant remember the exact name at the moment.// but it takes the black paint off from the factory and turns the whole badge back to chrome again?? Just wondering if anyone has attempted done or heard of this before??Thanks! Later!

You can use acetone or brake cleaner.

Whichever you use, don't get it on the paint of the truck...it'll strip it right off.

I did that long ago. I used some acetone and rubbed it off. But that was with new emblems that were not on my truck. Don't dip them though, you'll take off the adhesive backing.

I prefer shaving them off nowadays.

I prefer shaving them too, but i figured for now it would be a nice little touch. I read somewhere that it is only certain year badges that do it, will my 1994 ranger splash badge work good??And will it actually look good when finished or will it look like garbage?

The problem is the older they are, the black is harder to remove, due to age.
