Ok. so I cant figure out what engine I have. I own a 87 ram 50 and it came with 2.0 but I have reason to believe that it was swapped for a 2.6. I already did what some guy told me to do which is check which air filter fits but same filter for both engines. Any suggestions? Thanks ahead of time.

You can check on the block for the identification number. On most of these trucks it will be on the right upper corner of the block right next to the first spark plug. I don't remember the codes off hand, but if you type it into search engine on computer it will tell you. 4G52 is 2.0 and 4G54 is 2.6 if I'm not mistaken.

man this is friggin gay. i seriously looked everywhere on the top right and bottom of that block. nothing. anywhere else i can look or anyother suggestions

It is hard to see. Look right under the spark plug. Mine was at the very top of the block. It wasn't on the big surface of the block, its on a little ridge. You can't see it looking at the side of the block, you see it looking from the top of the block. Like an inch down from the spark plug. Very faint lettering, might not see it if you have oil on it.

are you sure both the 2.0 an 6 would have that code in the same place? I looked everyplace on the top right of that block. I wiped the dried oil off and nothing. What a joke. Thanks so much theough. It might be there. I will contunue to look tomorrow. It's a little to dark out now. lol. Thank you though.

ok. Ill look at it in the morning. Please do though. Thank you so much. I just want to get to the bottom of this. If anything I will have a mechanic look at it and tell me what it is. I bought it for 900 and lowered the front and back and did a few other things so far but I really want to know what the engine size is to continue upgrading. Headers/weber/etc.

engine code will be about the front middle section of the passenger side of the BLOCK on a flat planed surface a little below the level of the waterpump. Will be g63b if 2.0 or g54b if 2.6

This is how mine is. My motor is older than yours and is a G52B which is a 2.0.
