it was suggested that i swap the head on my MM(2.4 5spd.) for a 16 valve head.
1) what kind of car would have this head?
2) can it still be a sohc head?
3) will it bolt directly to my motor?
4) wil the stock head gasket for the truck be the same?

i know the montero had the 2.4 as the base engine in the mid 90's and it must have been a 16 valve to get extra power to move that big vehicle. i believe the intake manifold will fit the dual cam engine but there will probably be some stuff that has to be changed. you may be able to use parts from a fwd mitsu 2.0 as long as you research all the stuff needed (find a forum for eclipses, etc). personally i'd rather have a ho hum 2.4 8 valve in my truck than a 2.0 with twin cams (more low end power from the longer stroke). there was a mitsu 2.4 16 valve on ebay awhile back for like $400. it had low miles but i didn't have the money to buy or pay the shipping at the time.

so if the 16 valve head would work on my 2.4 wouldnt it be like a stroked 4g63 if i turboed it?

yes...you are correct. more cubic inches is more cubic inches and when you combine a stroker motor with good air flow you get the best of both worlds which is what you want on a street car. the evo is a cool car, but would be cooler if they used the 2.4 bottom end. the srt-4 went that route using the pt cruiser motor which is also a 2.4 (chrysler design but uses a mitsu turbo).

so what kind of mitsu cars could i get the parts i need to build my 2.4 like the turbo, head and accesories?
cuz i could prolly pick all that up at a pull-a-part thats not far from my house and not spend too much

just remembered...can't use the cylinder head from a fwd car.....the exhaust manifold will end up on the driver side and the intake will be on the passenger side.....so you will to find a montero or other rwd mitsu with a 16 valve head....probably easier just to swap the whole engine if you get a good one.

so would my stock 2.4 hold a stock talon or eclipse turbo?
or would it blow my motor?
and is there n e way i can use stock parts off of other mitsu cars to turbo my mighty max

check this out

would i be able to use my stock multi point fuel injection with a dohc 16 valve head and would my stock manifold bolt back in place. because if my stock intake manifol and exhaust manifold would bolt back up tp the 16 valve head that would make it very easy

oh and how much power would the head swap add?
