90 Mighty Max 2.4l strange idle problem

Im having the same problem with my 89 model. I lowered the idle speed and the idle isnt so high until i step on the gas pedal then thats when it stays high. Also when i turn the engine off the motor starts to choke as if its trying to start itself even with the key out of the egnition. Im guessing its the carb thats the problem but dont know much about mightymax either. Can anyone help out?

the crazy idle a symptom sounds like a bad ecm temp sending unit also check the plug on the tps for dirty contacts

I have a 92 mm with the 2.4, had the same idle problem, with a newly rebuilt ecm. Disconnected both battery posts, cleaned the contacts on the tps and iac connections, took the iac apart down to the same white plastic worm gear and sprayed a little brake cleaner on everything. Reassembled when dry and reconnected battery. Started and let idle for 15 min or so. That fixed mine, anyways. Hope this helps.
