90 mitsubishi mighty max running rich!!

did you have the same capacitor leakage?
how much did they charge you overall including shipping?

Capacitor leakage on these vehicles is inevitable after about 20 years. I have been told that the leaking oil shorts out portions of the board, so it needs to be cleaned and the capacitors replaced. The last ecu they repaired for me was for my '90 4x4MM and it cost a total of $215., including shipping. I know this is a competitive price but the main reason I used them was the Mitsu shop said he had used them for several years with dozens of repairs.

just another question. does anyone know what other year ecu's from the mighty max are compatible with mine?

Only 1990 year. All others 91+ were changed

I temporarily used a '91 ECU in my '90 MM with no problems but have been told you couldn't use a "90 ecu in any of the newer models. Your best bet is to have your old one rebuilt.

ohh i see. yeah i wouldnt see why you couldnt use the newer year ecu's because 91-95 mighty max looks all the same
and they have the 2.4l motor. i mean if it was obd2 id understand. im going to my local pick a part junk yard tomorrow
and look for some ecu's. i appreciate everyone for their advice and will update constantly. they only wanted $27.50 for the ecu so id give that a try. heres a picture of my mighty max just for giggles. it is really starting to grow on me.

i have a ecu out of my 95 max 2.4 2wd 5 speed truck.....its for sale if you need it.

the 91+ switched to a different MAF and I think they might also have a slightly different pinout at the ecu plugs
