I could get this truck if i wanted to. I think is a '79 but I didn’t look. It’s an SR5 with a 5 speed and the body is pretty strait for a truck that old. The roof and hood were dented in but I popped them out from the inside. Supposedly it need door locks, carb, and clutch. The underside of the driver side dash is missing, the glove box doesn't stay shut, and the tailgate is rusted open.

They want $500 for it, and I have another 2 grand after that I can pour into her, plus its less that a mile from my house.

Is it worth it?

I hope the pics work.

Not a 79. 1981 was the first year of the 22R.

If you want an easy starter truck, this isn't it.

Also a new carb and clutch will blow about a $500 wad.

Why? Because there is to much wrong with it?

My dad went to look at it with me and he worked yota parts for 17 years, he says to talk them down to $400 or maybe $300. I was just happy that it was so cheap and I'd have so much left over to fix it. Plus it would keep me busy for a while...a long while.

I probly wouldn't put brand new carb on it. But when we but anything from Toyota we get the employe price 'cause we still know alot of ppl there. I don't know how much of a difference that makes.

Used carbs are about 3 bills. A new carb is near 1k.

I'm saying its not an easy started truck, due to the suspension. There is a good deal more to do than on an 84-95 truck, and also more parts to buy to make it lay, and a very narrow selection of wheels.

I don’t necessarily want to bag it yet because I’d have to drive it I can’t have it taken apart all the time. I can’t drive the 4x4 because it is my dad’s. Is static lowering hard to do on it too?

I'll look around for some newer trucks and see what I can find. Most of the time the problem is to much money, or it's had the hell beaten out of it.

Static isn't that hard, but you will get some nice camber, with not much drop.

That sucks. Will A-arms fix that? How much do they cost?
