thats the problems with the older trucks....they dont make stuff like that anymore so you have to make them yourself. i think you can get arms made for the 84-88 trucks which i believe will bolt up, however, i dont know if they are the right length.

i think the truck is pretty clean and in decent enough shape for its year and price. i would try to get the owner to come down on the price like your dad said, but as long as you have the time, money, and drive to put the work into the truck to get it running and possibly restored/customized. i say go for it. just remember zip lock baggies and sharpie markers are your best friend when taking stuff apart.

What has to be done to the A-arms to make it sit lower?

I can understand the zip lock baggies thing, my dad builds and restores aircraft for a living and he does that too. I'm pretty lucky that he does what he does because he is very mechanically inclined having done this stuff all his life. Plus there is no shortage of tools around here.

Here are a couple pix of our shop.

They don't make arms for that truck.

If you run arms from an 84-95 truck it will push your wheels out 1/2" on each side, and it will never tuck anything. Also in order to run the newer control arms, you have to swap over to 84-95 spindles, hubs, rotors, calipers, brake lines and fittings. You can modify the stock arms to accept the newer balljoint and install the newer spindles and rotors and all. You'll spend about $400 there without control arms. Control arms are about $600 I believe, and you won't be able to tuck anything.

I built my own upper arms. I modified my lowers to accept new balljoints. All you have to do is angle them. The upper arm and balljoint will fit the newer spindle.

Alright, well I think i'm gonna get it if I can talk 'em down.

So I can buy drop spindles for the '84-'88 and modify the stock arms to fit them, Right?
