I've done it to a 1968 Camaro, a 1972 C-10 (actually cut it down and molded into the front end like a roll pan), a 1979 Datsun pickup, and a Volkswagen Bug. The key is getting it welded and ground down smooth enough to have it rechromed.

a dude on s10 forum (help me god for saying that) shortened his bumper on his extreme and it looks rad as hell.

I did that before we even had digital cameras. Come to think of it, most of the coolest stuff I ever did was back in the 80's and early 90's. When you go back in history, you will find that everything you see in a custom car or truck magazine has allready been done, just slightly different. When ever a hot rod guy thinks up something new and cool to do to a vehicle, you have to realize that it has been done. Maybe it just wasn't put on the cover of Truckin', or Street Rodder. I remember ordering and installing the first 17" wheels on a Honda CRX from Centerline wheels back in 1990. Everyone told me they wouldn't fit, and Centerline was even unsure when I ordered them with a 4x100mm bolt pattern (at about $300 each). The only company that made a 17" tire narrow enough to fit the wheel was BFGoodrich in a Z rated tire (at another $240 each).
This was a time where cell phones mounted in the trunk of your car and attached to your console or dash. We all come up with new ideas, but to someone else, it's an old idea, that has come and gone.

Sorry for the history recap. I'm just glad I was around to see the transformation of custom cars from the 70's to where we are now.

here's my favorite "design"
could've been done before, but this will definitely be great for the guys who have done 1UZ, 350, LS1, 2JZ,7M, and other motor swaps. This will even be great for the V6 guys, especially if they wanna run rear dual rear exhaust...

Better off with the tag lamps above the tag. Hide them.

Yeah i had no other way to show where they would be mounted. but factory mounting should be perfect
