doesnt the nickle plate discolor under intense heat like chrome does? i was on doug thorley headers website and they wanted like 400 bucks for a coated header. where did you get yours?

Nickel does discolor. It will change color right at the bend off the header. Nickel turns blue and purple. I think chrome discoloration is ugly.

I called Doug Thorley up directly, I paid $218 shipped for mine.

Oh, they will be having a christmas special soon. The guy I talked to gave me the Christmas price in like February. Lol. Call them up and ask if they're having the sale again.

I have a 88 w/ a EFI engine, so it's differant from the carbed models. I run LC's header, witch is stainless, & cerramic coated . A great header,but sits a little below the frame & that's a problem! The Thouley header is mild steel ,but sits higher up, so would be a better choice. & you can get it cerramic coated.

The LC header is also like $500.

the LC header is $359

which will work for an automatic tranny.

Either one will work.
