i was thinking the same thing cause im painting my dash right now, i think im going to try to paint the center piece...it should be fine as long as no one pushes and presses on it so it dont crack or nothing until i get my bad wheel. its so hard to bring myself to spending 300 bucks on s steering wheel. lol.

UPDATE:

finally took some pic that shoulda been taken awhile back, anyways here we go...

Raised the stock inner fenders several inches to clear the appropriate sized tire.
nickel plated the hoodhinges and hardware, hood prop, charcoal canister brackets, resonator bracket, hood latch, heater valve bracket and a few clamps.
Polished, then painted the valve cover. crappy camera wont properly capture the ghosted skulls down the center in the black area, gotta see it in person.
powdercoated and polished upper intake manifold.
painted random stuff under the hood, resonator, charcoal can, vacuum tubes, battery top, the 22re sticker, etc.

I want that license plate set up. That is sick!! Does it work off of the ignition, or does it have a toggle.

That is a sweet lookin truck!!

A couple of questions if you feel like sharing...
1. Is there a DIY on recovering/customizing the door panels?
2. Did you take out the entire dash to do the painting, or did you have to paint the back half of the dash top in place? I'd like to paint the top of the dash, but getting that back piece out looks like a ridiculous pain, and I'm thinking of just taping off the window & going to town...

thanks in advance!

he had the doors professionally done
took the dash out, sanded it smooth and painted. its not that bad, just unhook everything.
