Yeah the owner fell asleep at the wheel, and took out some 60 feet or so of someones fence, and had to pay for it. So the funds are short on this truck. I still plan on getting it done int he same amount of time, because after that its storage, but I need the money. Paying rent every month takes a toll.

that hood looks awesome how do you weld it without it warping from the heat? any secrets or just do it really slow?

You don't, really. I just weld short amounts and cool ti with compressed air. But if you look at the first picture it still tin canned a bit. I just deal with it. I will use a shrinking disc to fix the tin can parts.

cooling it with compressed air? ive heard of people cooling with a damp rag... are there any pros or cons to either way? maybe the damp rag could make the weld cure with less strength than letting it cool slowly?

I used compressed air when I installed my link kit and notch, found out from past projects ( welding ) that it worked quite well . . .
