Narrowed the axle 2 inches. Will do the axle shafts tomorrow, time for machining class right now. The axle shafts have about 1.125" of splines past where they where engaged stock, so I simply have to cut 1" off the end and it will still grab full factory splines. Got to love Toyota.

I was reading about that. Needing the longer 4WD shafts or something right? I definitely got lucky. If I needed to go any narrower I would have been SOL though I think. The axles neck down right after the splines. It looks like you can go 1" per side and use the stock axle, or you have to go about 2.5" per side and have them re splined. Still probably not as hard as a Nissan though.

What is the width of that axle you needed? The 521 axle was 52" wide.

My problem is the splines are rolled on instead of cut, therefore if i were to respline the axle further up i would only have splines 1/2 as deep as factory. I think we got it figured out now tho.

Didn't get much accomplished today between school and the club meeting. But I managed to build a link cross member.
