Shaving and painting

If i was shaved my doorhandles would i have to get the whole body repainted or jus the doors.? saying i wanted to keep it the same colour and all.

Depends on how good you paint.. You can just respray the doors if you can blend the paint enough to match the oem color

when i had my handles shaved, i left the primer blocks on the door for like 6 months before i had it painted. the guy faded it in really good, cant even tell any difference.

i would leave your handles after you shave them sitting in primer for at least 3 months....if you paint right over after its all done, your doors will crack and you'll be doing it all over again.

crack? only if you use alot of bondo..cut out a section of metal and weld it into place! that way you just do a light skim coat of bondo after all the grinding, and you can paint it immediately

yeah, thats how mine was done...the guy who did it is the best of the best. its just what he recommended me to do...he's seen them crack immediatley after being painted right over or sometimes it will sink and you'll still be able to see where the handle was. it was blocked 2 or three times before being painted. plus it doesnt help the fact that when ever people would get in my truck they would slam the hell out of the door like they were closing a cadillac or something.

y do they kill our doors

amen on the damn door thing... mine havent cracked after 2 years, even tho my girl seems to think shes closing the door of a 1972 cadillac when she gets in!! She slams that mother so hard i swear its gonna turn inside out or something!! I CONSTANTLY am bitching at her for that!

Maybe we should put little stickers on our doors that say
" WARNING, This door only weighs 30 pounds- Slamming it hard may result in injury from being pimp-slapped by the driver"
