You have to Z the frame to lay on 18's in an '88 right?

You have to Z the frame to lay flat in any pre taco.

I didn't know that till this week, so thanks for confirming. now it looks like my build just turned into an even longer project... should be a fun summer!

You are cutting your frame in half. Better make sure whoever does it does a damn good job, cuz vehicle inspection is gonna be all over that stuff this year. No offense, but if the guy you have doing it is sending me 5 questions a day about what to do and what it will effect that would scare me as the customer. And I will not be giving him step by step instructions.

These trucks are NOT a job for someone with zero experience in any sort of suspension or chassis fab.

with the fenderwells cut out
you can lay frame with 18's i have a 91 toy, and i lay hard with 17's and pre fitted my 18's and guess what, layed frame!! with a 205-40-18 tire

you can lay the rear of the frame but the front cross member hangs lower than the frame does by an inch. wheel size shouldnt matter its only going to go as low as the front cross member will allow. it might be different on the extended cabs though but i always though they were the same on that aspect.

You're not laying frame. You're laying front corssmember, and spring hangers. If you were laying frame, you would be about 1" to 1.5" lower than you are right now.
