caprice

I got a question for caprice owners, if I lay out my caprice, will I have to raise my gas tank, its right below the trunk, and I dont want to drag through it. Also, anyone do the "stock floor notch" and what I mean, is basically cutting a piece of pipe in half and welding it in the frame to notch it a few inches. Any help would be great
