cool man thanks for the quick reply! I know these things are under mad pressure though so how do you go about this safely? If you put stands under the frame so the control arms are just hanging does this relieve all pressure from torsion bars?

On my friend's hardbody, we just loosened them as you would to drop the truck.. until the nuts came off, then cut the bars with a sawzall and slid the bars through the crossmembers. (was just easier to cut it all out rather than fishing that longass rod through lol.. )

Glad my pics could help man, like they already explained.. just jack the control arm up all the way and go from there, you'd probably be just a little off from laying out, and you could get spindles or some people flip the upper balljoints (im not suggesting it, unless others post here from experience in doing so).

so just those longass bolts at the back of the bar that connect it to the crossmember. THe ones that are double nutted need to be loosened and then the other end is splined and will slide out correct?

yup but im with ricky if you can cut um itll be a lot easier unless someday you will change it back to stock somewhat

my bars came out easy, but then agian, i got my truck from my grandpa, so it hardly ever saw the road. i got it like nine months ago and it only had 60,000 miles on it and its a 92. but dont flip your ball joints! it wont do sh!t. if your really lucky you might get 3/4 of an inch out of it. just get drop spindles.
