I think he took more out of the arm than 1/2". My bag plate isnt actually that close to the top, not where it starts at least.

also, if you use a two ply bag, doesnt it compress more than a 4ply? not much but every little bit would count.

i have the issue sittin on the back of the can, ill read it again to see exaclty how he got it that low. if i remember correctly when boddy mounted the bag plate welded it to the underside of the frame at an angle so the upper bag bracket was parrallel to the LCA so the bag compresses flat instead of all cockeyed.

Yeah the bag is compressed right flat out. I usually set things up with a proper bag angle at ride height,, since thats where the truck spends most of its time. I dont mind a little misalignment when layed out. The one in MT has a pretty crazy angle to do it.

ya i set my bags up so they are straight at ride hight. i would think you would lose some lift if your bag bows out like that. because the bag is wanting to push out not up.
