I need answers to the Stupid questions about Zing a frame!
These may be those kinda questions one finds out when its actually getting done but I still need the info.So lets get straight to it

When the frame is on stands -1 front of z /1 rear of z how do you raise the front level and safely?

Whats the best amount of Z on a 91?Looks like 1 3/4?

With 3/4 drop mounts (not concerned with stock hood clearece),I should wait to weld in the tranny x-member right?

Oil pan issues?

Last 1 of the night .Bd to rocker-20's-stock shit up front -Steering fix.
DRawings ,sketches anything .....lol....Thks felllas.

your better off shaving the tranny crossmember first, that way once u have the front part of the chassis propped up, once u cut through the frame it will just drop down then weld it back up

so what your saying Aust is to let the "big part of the truck drop" and leave the z on stands ?

the tranny x member is out .I built a custom one but havnt welded the mount on yet because i wasnt sure if the tranny mount was going to change?

The tranny mount will pivot a little when you Z it, but will be brought back down with the motor mounts.

my virgin frame required 1.25" Z. The amount seems to vary from truck to truck, so just cut it till it lays.

Ok ok .gonna clean the frame up tonight and get some pics up of her with no clothes on.

Prob gonna tack in the tranny xmember but wait on the mount.

Gotta build that new driveshaft x member still ,but im trying to second guess the new bag setup for the rear so i dont have to build a new xmember later.

I hate weekends ,i should have bought some metal earlier!!

I Got that money sent seth.

since i notched it for the 16's ,and now have 20's i cant lay in the back. i got room to move in the notch but none left from axlemount (with bag collaped) to upper bag mount.

Would it be stupid to build a slightly higher bridge on the notches to get the bags up higher so it can lay for now?

You could build some tube mounts to support it.

You can also jack up the whole truck and level it before Z'ing it, because your garage floor likely isn't level anyways.

Definitely get the trans crossmember welded in before you Z the frame, otherwise the frame under the cab might pull or twist.

Good point. I got her leveled right now ,so i will mark the area to cut then drop her on the floor and get to the dirty!Right?

Def gonna get those members in prior to cutting!

Any suggestions on new tube bridge design?
Yea yea yea im just trying not to make it look so simple and gay!

bust out the bender and get to work. personally i like it when all the tubes have a purpose, other than ascetics.
